Village Preservation’s Fall Continuing Education program, The Architectural and Cultural Heritage of Greenwich Village, The East Village, & NoHo, begins next Thursday, spanning four days of in-person and virtual learning on October 8, 14, 15, and 22. This incredibly popular program, now in its 16th year, gives you an intimate, personal audience with acclaimed professionals in the fields of architecture, zoning, and history, to gain a greater appreciation for how New York City and our neighborhoods grew and evolved.

You’ll learn why regulations shaping the size and placement of buildings were first established in New York City, and how they’ve come to be the most complex building regulatory system in the country. You’ll see how architectural styles evolved, and what they represented over two centuries. 

Village Preservation’s 22.5-hour Continuing Education program also includes all recent legal requirements for real estate professionals in cultural competency, ethical business practices, recent legal matters, implicit bias awareness, agency law, and principles of fair housing and discrimination. However, the course is designed to be a great learning experience for any member of the public who cares deeply about our city and neighborhoods, and their built environment. Discounted rates are available for Village Preservation members, as well as those not requiring State continuing education credits.
