New August Programs: Revolutionary War Alternative History, Immigration, Suffrage, Stonewall, Historic Image Tour

New addition to to our August Program calendar:

Freedom’s Edge: Greenwich Village and the American Revolution on Thursday, August 20 at 6 pm looks at the American Revolution and how it played out in our neighborhood through an alternative lens — its impact on and meaning for Native Americans, who had been pushed out of our neighborhoods, and thousands of Black Americans, who with British assistance fled the new country to escape slavery. Part of our ongoing yearlong Revolutionary Village series focusing on our neighborhoods’ impact on our country over the last 250 years and marking its founding, this free virtual program co-sponsored by the Merchant’s House Museum is one of many we’ve created to explore the full range and depth of our country’s and neighborhoods’ histories.

We’ve also got several other great upcoming August programs you won’t want to miss:

All programs are free and open to the public, but registration is required and space may be limited.
