Application is to redevelop the vacant lot, that was the result of the fire in 2020 that led to the loss of the church, into a temporary outdoor space that would include the installation of ground cover, landscaping, fencing, accessible ramp and platform. The proposed scope of work would also include a new door opening on the first floor of 50 East 7th Street to provide direct access to the outdoor space.

LPC Public Hearing – August 4th, 2026
Closed / Approved: The approved scope of work includes the construction of a new concrete platform and associated structural foundation work, regrading and installation of fencing, landscaping and related site improvements, and the installation of a new entrance on the side elevation of 50 East 7th Street. The Commission added the condition that the applicant wok with the LPC staff on the design of the hatch to access the salvaged stone from the church that is planned to be located below the concrete platform in order for the stones to be able to be removed without having to demolish it.
