Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) Public Hearing – Tuesday, October 20th –
APPROVED.
Community Board 2 Landmarks Committee Meeting – September 17th, 2026 at 6:00pm
CB Resolution: Denial unless the structure is considerably reduced in size and height, is pulled back a very considerable distance from the front and sides of the building, that the cladding is in a softer, less reflective material more typical of rooftop additions in the district and that the stair bulkheads are reduced in size as permitted by code- all to conform to the general size and visibility of rooftop additions above in the district.
LPC Public Hearing – July 15th 2025
APPROVED WITH MODIFICATIONS: That the applicants work with staff to further articulate the storefront details, and that they explore reducing visibility of the rooftop bulkhead in consultation with staff.
Community Board 2 Meeting – June 12th, 2025
CB Resolution Recommends:
A. Denial of the infill unless it closely references the proportions and design of the historic photographs especially with respect to configuration and proportion and uses the grade level as the reference point; and
B. Approval of the restoration and replacement of grill work beneath the windows; and
C. Denial of the marquees as unsuitable to the historic building; and
D. Denial of the intrusive ramps and that a method for ADA entrances be devised that occupies less sidewalk space; and
E. Approval of the rooftop equipment and elevator bulkheads
