UPCOMING HEARING/MEETING(S):
LPC Public Meeting – TBD
PAST HEARING/MEETING DATES and DECISIONS
LPC Public Hearing – March 17th, 2026
NO ACTION: Commissioners found that the proposed second story addition is excessive, too tall and too visible, overwhelms the historic building, and as proposed completely changes the identity of the building. It was noted that the previously approved addition should be the baseline maximum for visibility, and that the new proposal needs to be revised to be much lower and/or set back, and that the materiality should be restudied. Overall, the proposed addition needs to be subordinate to the existing building.
Community Board 2 Meeting – February 12th, 2026
CB Resolution Recommends: Denial of the application as totally unsuitable to the building and the district.
Please note: At this time, all LPC public hearings and meetings are hybrid. Members of the public may participate in-person at the LPC Hearing Room, 253 Broadway, Second Floor, or virtually via Zoom and YouTube. For a video tutorial on how to participate virtually, click HERE.
View the video after a LPC hearing concludes: Videos of past LPC Hearings and Meetings can be found on their YouTube page. The LPC posts these videos about a week after the presentation. Videos include the applicant’s presentation, public testimony (for hearings only), and deliberation by the LPC commissioners.
