LPC Public Hearing – February 3rd, 2026
APPROVED WITH MODIFICATIONS:
- That the applicant work with staff to ensure the finish of the replacement units closely matches the historic terra cotta finish;
- And that a mockup of a sizeable portion of the cornice made from the mold of the historic terra cotta is produced to illustrate accurate replication of the deeply cut reveals and profiles, for review and approval by commission staff prior to commencement of work.
Manhattan Community Board 2 Meeting – January 15th, 2026
CB Resolution Recommends: Approval of the replacement of the terracotta cornice with GFRP molded from the original cornice provided that the finish matches the finish of the existing terracotta detailing of the windows.
