Andrew Berman has led Village Preservation since 2002, spearheading successful efforts to secure landmark designation for more than 1,300 buildings, including groundbreaking designations of LGBTQ+, African American, immigrant, artistic, and countercultural history. A lifelong New Yorker and architectural historian, he has also worked extensively in tenant, housing, and cultural advocacy.

Carl Raymond, writer, lecturer, and social and culinary historian, is your host and guide for The Gilded Gentleman History Podcast. He lectures regularly for organizations such as The Royal Oak Foundation, The Metropolitan Opera Guild, Edith Wharton’s home, The Mount, and Historic Royal Palaces on subjects from food to the literary history of this fascinating period.
